The Revolution is Coming!!!!!

The Beachbody Revolution that is.

Will YOU be ready?

On December 19, a very special infomercial will hit the airwaves promoting the COACHING OPPORTUNITY with Beachbody.

Before I explain that, let me tell you why I became a coach.

I became a coach a year ago because I wanted to help people. Helping people is in my nature...after all, I'm a RN. Helping people get fit & healthy motivated me to get fit & healthy. It was a perfect combination. I did not care about the business side of things. Not interested.

Over time, I began to realize that not only could I do what I love, but I could receive a sizable weekly paycheck for it. WHAT!?!!?!? This was too good to be true! I had to pinch myself! You mean, I can actually get in shape, stay at home with my son, help others do the same, AND get paid for it?!?!?!?! It's not a joke or a gimmick!!!!

This same opportunity will now be presented to the public! This company, that is on the Fortune 500, is expected to EXPLODE in 2009! Now is the time to get involved...before the explosion!

Here's the jest of it: there is a $39.95 start up fee. After the first month, there is a $14.95/month fee for your "back office" and website upkeep. Here is the best part...if, for any reason, you decide that coaching is not for you, you simply call Beachbody and cancel! There is NO RISK!

As a coach, you receive a 25% discount on ALL products. This includes the programs that have made Beachbody famous, such as P90X, Turbo Jam, and Hip Hop Abs. ChaLEAN Extreme will be released next month and is one of the most highly anticipated programs in Beachbody history!!!!!!

So, let's say that your interest is peaked, but you have questions...you have concerns...you need to know more before you commit. I understand. My analytical brain works the exact same way. I have addressed coaching more in depth, including common concerns HERE.

Join the REVOLUTION! Let's reverse this trend of obesity in America!!!!

99% is a b!tch, 100% is a breeze

Today is a good day! I am completing my 4-week rotation of Turbo Jam. I've worked out 6 days/week for 4 weeks, taken my vitamins daily, had at least 8 glasses of water, and eaten well. GO ME! This is a major accomplishment after shaking the sand from my hair a month ago.

I'm taking a rest week now and not weighing or measuring until Thanksgiving morning. I can already tell that I have slimmed down. My pants are baggy in the arse. I feel AWESOME!

I'm going to do a 4-week rotation of Slim Series next. Basically I'm trying to bide my time as I wait for ChaLEAN Extreme to be released. Can't happen soon enough!!!!! Bring on the weights!

I am here to tell ALL OF YOU...if I can do this, so can you! I grew up with such an unhealthy view of food, emotional eating, weight, etc. I still battle it because it is ingrained in me. It's ok. I've come to realize that I am a strong woman who can overcome anything. I am capable of doing what I set my mind to.

As Jack Canfield says in one of my favorite books, The Success Principles, 99% is a b!tch, 100% is a breeze!

Fast Food TV Ads Linked to Child Obesity, Study Finds

Thursday , November 20, 2008

AP

ATLANTA —

A little less "I'm Lovin' It" could put a significant dent in the problem of childhood obesity, suggests a new study that attempts to measure the effect of TV fast-food ads.

A ban on such commercials would reduce the number of obese young children by 18 percent, and the number of obese older kids by 14 percent, researchers found.

They also suggested that ending an advertising expense tax deduction for fast-food restaurants could mean a slight reduction in childhood obesity.

Some experts say it's the first national study to show fast-food TV commercials have such a large effect on childhood obesity. A 2006 Institute of Medicine report suggested a link, but concluded proof was lacking.

"Our study provides evidence of that link," said study co-author Michael Grossman, an economics professor at City University of New York.

The study has important implications for the effectiveness of regulating TV advertising, said Lisa Powell, a researcher at the University of Illinois at Chicago's Institute for Health Research and Policy. She was not involved in the research but was familiar with it.

The percentage of U.S. children who are overweight or obese rose steadily from the 1980s until recently, when it leveled off. About a third of American kids are overweight or obese, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates.

The causes of childhood obesity are complicated, but for years researchers have been pondering the effects of TV advertising. Powell, for example, found fast-food commercials account for as much as 23 percent of the food-related ads kids see on TV. Others have estimated children see fast-food commercials tens of thousands of times a year.

The new study is based in part on several years of government survey data from the late 1990s that involved in-person interviews with thousands of U.S. families. The researchers also looked at information about local stations in the 75 largest TV markets, including locally seen fast-food commercials and the size of viewing audiences.

The researchers used a statistical test that presumes TV ads lead to obesity but made calculations to address other influences such as income and the number of nearby fast-food restaurants. They also took steps to account for the possibility that some children may already have been overweight and inactive regardless of their TV-watching habits.

The study is being published this month in the Journal of Law & Economics. The authors, funded by a federal grant, included Grossman and researchers from Lehigh University and Georgia State University.

The authors stopped short of advocating an advertising ban or eliminating the advertising tax deduction.

Grossman said it's possible that some families benefit from advertising by finding out what restaurants are nearby and what they're serving. "A lot of people consume fast food in moderate amounts and it doesn't harm their health," he said.

McDonald's Corp., the giant fast-food chain responsible for the widely seen "I'm Lovin' It" ad campaign, referred questions about the study to the National Council of Chain Restaurants. Officials with that organization could not be reached Wednesday evening.

Kids Say the Darnest Things

Isn't it funny how our kids can see something in us that can change everything?

As I've written many times, I had a very stressful past 5 months and gained some weight back as a result. Now, I KNEW that I had gained some weight back, but I liked being an ostrich. It was easier, and I didn't have to deal with the situation or think about myself.

A month ago, as I sat on the couch watching TV, my 7-year old walked in the door with a pack of almond M&Ms. He offered me some, which I declined because I actually don't like them with nuts. The next words out of his mouth changed everything for me!!!! Without skipping a beat and without any insinuation or ill-intent, he said to me "Oh, I should have got plain M&Ms for you because you ARE turning into blubber mommy again."

WHAT!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!!?! ARE YOU FLIPPIN KIDDING ME?!?!!?!?!?!?!?

That was all I needed to hear to pop my head out of the sand and see EXACTLY what was going on. I credit my son with bringing me back to reality, and I've told him so. He is very proud of being my catalyst.

Out of the mouth of babes!

Unhealthy City

Did you hear the news today? Huntington, W Va is our nation's unhealthiest city. According to the mayor, who is obese, it is because the residents are more focused on the economic challenges in the city than their health. The hospitals routinely admit people in their 30's suffering from heart attacks.

PEOPLE, WAKE UP!

Our nation is in a crisis of obesity! What is happening in Huntington can easily happen anywhere in America. It scares me that we, as a society, are allowing our children to learn these unhealthy behaviors. Our children don't exercise and eat fat-ladened foods...and we wonder why obesity has trickled down to them? I just don't get it.

People are convinced that it's expensive to eat healthy and stay in shape. It's NOT! I can prove it to you. I don't have a gym membership. I exercise at home without fancy equipment. I don't make a boat load of money. I choose healthy foods for my family instead of fast food. I watch the sales in the grocery store. I'm frugal. There are options.

I don't want to have to take care of a 30-year old heart attack victim the next time that I'm working at a hospital.

Perfect timing

Wow...can't believe that we are almost at the end of another year. So much has happened this past year for me. I turned 40 AND did so in the best shape of life. I also endured the most stressful year of my life as my younger brother underwent brain surgery and had subsequent complications. During this time, my needs went on the back burner. I lived on McDonald's cheeseburgers. I gained back 10 lbs as a result.

Then, I read a book that changed my life: The Success Principles. I saw, for the first time, that I chose my response to a stinky situation...thus the weight gain. I could have responded differently. I didn't. I began, at that moment, to take 100% responsibility for my life, to stop blaming others, to stop blaming the situation.

I decided to STOP putting myself last. Period. I found that "fire in the belly" that I had lost. I began to workout for ME...not for the people I help.

Now, I feel strong...the weight is coming back off...I'm not giving up. AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU!!! Regardless of what is happening in your life right now, YOU MATTER! If you gain back weight, SO WHAT? Do something about it! Take charge! Take responsibility!

So, let's bring this full circle: Timing...taking control back of my life is the perfect time to give my website and blog a much needed face lift. So welcome! Glad to have you!

Plan for New Year's, NOW!

This is from Carl's blog...worth reposting here!

This post is about you taking "just enough" action to become a coach and making sure that you are part of the revolution as a coach who can get fit and earn; not just a spectator watching everyone else.

For some, becoming a Beachbody Coach can look intimidating. They are the people that usually watch opportunity pass them by. They cruise around social networking sites and see a ton of other coaches milling around the same groups and think that it's going to be hard to compete in a crowded marketplace.

First - it just isn't crowded. Second - You won't find out unless you sign up and see that it only takes a little effort to see things start to happen.

Right now we have less than 14,000 coaches - great number in some respects, but merely a drop in the ocean of opportunity. There are hundreds of millions of people in this country. You can connect with many of them every day in so many ways. Hundreds of millions of people, and less than 2% of them have ever bought a Beachbody product.

But ALMOST ALL of them will justify over-indulging from now until New Years thinking they will start working out January second. "I'll start right after New Years"... (That's a familiar voice!)

Every year, this is the dance. And every year, this is the opportunity.

As a coach, your job is to stake your claim to that opportunity now - maybe not to make a million dollars a year, but maybe to simply get your share: If someone you know is going to buy a Beachbody product in 2009, they need to know that you are a distributor so they come to you to pick the right program and get the best results.

Tell people you are going to do P90X. Tell hem you love Turbo Jam. Tell them when ChaLEAN Extreme launches, you are going to kick it off with a group of people for a three month boot camp. Create the enthusiasm so people have something to commit to this January -- YOU!

But they won't know unless you ARE a coach, and unless you tell them that WHEN they are ready, you have the solution. THAT'S HOW YOU ARE A FORCE OF CHANGE - by increasing the decibel level of how easy it can be to get started and succeed! And then simply being there to help them get started!

It's as easy as reposting blogs like this on MySpace or Facebook. Give it your own flavor and add your coach web store address, but the message is worth repeating from one friend to another until it shows up on every profile on the Internet: These products work, and together we are the best source for success through peer support and motivation!

We priced this coaching concept low so as many people as possible would get involved and get the word out - not just about Beachbody, but about how this trend of obesity and all these health issues can be solved by supporting each other!

Get involved. Stake your claim. And let's build the momentum of the Beachbody Revolution together!
